Hiroshi Hori

Puppet artist / stage, movie costume, and kimono designer. In 1978, while attending Aoyama Gakuin University, he was selected for the creative doll open call exhibition “Yang Guifei”. Received the “Fukusuke Monkey” Excellence Award at the same exhibition in 1979. Received the 1987 Kimono Culture Award. Received the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Honor Award in 1990. Debuted on stage in 1981 with “White Snake Illusion”. Since then, doll exhibitions and stage performances have been held in various places including overseas. In December 2010, the exhibition “Puppet Master Hiroshi Hori / Rabbit Calling Tsuki ~ 100 Students ~” will be held at Takashimaya Nihonbashi. He has continued a wide range of activities by naming his own way of using life-sized puppets as “puppet dance”, and also has Hori Hiroshi puppet schools in Tokyo and Ashiya.
