Tadao Takemoto

He is a critic and speaker of both Japanese and French languages in the fields of literature, art, and spiritual culture. Internationally renowned for his research on André Malraux. After working as a professor at the University of Tsukuba, he became an emeritus professor. Former visiting professor at collège de France. Born in 1932. He studied French literature with a master’s degree at Tokyo University of Education. It advocates the spiritual culture revival of Japan and it goes out to the press in the middle of one’s twenties. In 1963, he studied in the Sorbonne as a French government scholarship student. During his 11 years in France, he published a commentary on top-notch paper magazines in Paris, and in various places he gave lectures and artistic activities as a cultural and technical advisor to the Japanese Embassy in France. In May 1974, he met their highnesses for the first time as an interpreter for Malraux’s lecture to their then-Crown Prince and Princess. Next, I witnessed the scene where Malraux was struck by revelation in Kumano and Ise. In 1988, he was invited as a visiting professor at the Collège de France to make a lecture (published by Julyard, André Malraux and Nachi Falls) and was awarded the “Professor of Kings” (commonly known as the Professor of Kings) by François I, the founder of the Collège. In 1978, he planned and realized a large-scale exhibition of ” André Malraux and Eternal Japan” at the Idemitsu Museum of Art. In 1980, he was awarded the Order of the Literary Knight by the French government. It is invited from President Chirac as “Large witness” to the Pantheon dedication festival of Marlow in 1995 and it participates in the grandeur. Impressed by the unusual appearance of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress, he started his research in the late 1990s, guided by the songs of The Empress. In 2001, he moved to France again and began translating the songs, and with permission, in 2006, completed the Translation of the Song Selection Book “Theoto – Song of Seseragi” and published it from Signatura, Paris. In January 2004, he was honored to be invited to the ceremony of the New Year Imperial Poetry (Uta) Reading. At the end of 2007, after living in Paris for the second time in more than five years, he returned to Japan and lived in Mita Teramachi Town. In November last year, he published eight volumes of “The Rose from the Unknown”, devoting his eight years as a lifework to write confessions of his own eventful soul.
