Hiroshi Hori
He is a doll artist, stage, movie costume, and kimono designer. While studying at Aoyama Gakuin University in 1978, he was selected for the “Yang Guifei” exhibition for creative dolls. In 1979, he received the “Fukusuke Monkey” Excellence Award at the same exhibition. In 1987, he received the Kimono Culture Award. In 1990, he was awarded the Tokyo Metropolitan Culture Honor Award. In 1981, he made his stage debut with “Hakuja Genso”. Since then, he has held doll exhibitions and stage performances in various places, including overseas. In December 2010, “Doll Artist Hiroshi Holi Hiroshi: The Rabbit Calling The Sticking – 100 Pupils” will be held at Nihonbashi Takashimaya. He has continued to engage in a wide range of activities, naming his unique way of using dolls as “Ningyo Mai”, and has also opened a Hori Hiroshi Doll School in Tokyo and Ashiya.
